Leather is a natural material that is inherently durable and stain resistant. Our Braid leather tiles are made from water buffalo, with high and low tones, and variations from tile to tile, which can include color, texture, sheen, veining, and density. Due to the purity of the leather, the tiles are not treated with synthetic agents to enhance their performance.

To keep your Braid leather tiles looking their best, we recommend the following:

  1. The tiles will naturally expand and contract as they react to their environment. Prior to installation, leave the tiles in the area where they will be installed for at least 48 hours.
  2. The aniline dyes in the leather will naturally interact with sunlight over time, just like most organic materials. Do not expose the tiles to direct sunlight, as it might cause fading.
  3. Liquids may leave a stain if left on the leather’s surface. Blot up spills immediately with a moist microfiber cloth and allow the leather to dry naturally. Do not over saturate or apply a powered heat source, such as a hair dryer or heat gun, to the tiles.
  4. The leather is not treated to be resistant to oil and grease. Avoid contact with any oily or greasy substances such as hair products and skin lotion.
  5. For regular maintenance, wipe with a dry, clean microfiber cloth.
  6. Do not use detergents or cleansers that are not specifically made for leather and do not use saddle soap. Avoid over-saturating the leather.
  7. The best maintenance for Braid leather tiles is use. After several years, you can apply a mild clear leather wax. Do not use a product made only for shoes and boots.
